Loon Kaboon is officially back in town after three years living in Barcelona, and I’m very glad to have everything up and running again.

Where It Started
LK started in Stoneybatter during lockdown, which feels like a very specific time to have started anything. Not a super unique origin story, because everyone was taking up hobbies and crafts.
There was nothing to do, nowhere to go, and I needed something to focus on that wasn’t just staring at a screen all day.
So I started making prints and greeting cards in the evenings, just as a hobby at the start. Something to work on, something to build, something that felt a bit more creative.
It gradually grew from there, through local markets in town and selling online, and people actually started buying them, which was a nice surprise.
The Barcelona Chapter
After that, I moved to Barcelona and lived there for three years.
LK didn’t disappear, but the Spanish aren’t quite as into greeting cards and prints, so it wasn’t top priority.
That was grand though, it gave me time to figure out what I liked about LK, what I didn’t, what was working, and what felt a bit all over the place or inspired by trends, social media, or other people.
Less trying to do everything, more focusing on what actually made sense.
What’s Different?
Coming back to Dublin felt like the right time to start it properly again.
Back home. Back seeing the locations and scenes that originally inspired the brand. And back with the people.
LK is back where it all began, and drawing on lots of different bits and pieces for inspo.
What’s Available?
For the relaunch, there’s a mix of new designs, alongside a few old faves making a comeback.
Prints that are made to go straight onto your wall (or your desk, or wherever you end up putting them).
Greeting cards that you can actually keep instead of throwing out.
Stationery that’s useful, but still looks good sitting there.
Everything is hand illustrated by me and produced in small batches, so nothing is mass produced and things get restocked as they go.
What’s Coming Next
There’s more coming, of course.
New collections, more prints, more cards, and a few extra bits that I’ve been working on in the background.
Some things will stick around, some things won’t, so if you see something you like, don’t hang around too long.
It’s nice to have LK back in business. It’s been a hot sec, and hopefully the reset time will have been worth it.
