How to Spice Up Your Desk / Work Space

If your desk is currently just a mess of wires, a laptop, and whatever else has ended up there over the past few days, that’s fair. But it’s easy to spice it up and make it more you.

You don’t need to fully redo the space or buy loads of things you won’t use. You also don’t have to spend a fortune doing it up.

A print is always the easiest place to start, whether it’s a big piece or a lil one. Something colourful on the wall, even if it’s just stuck up with a bit of sellotape or washi tape, makes a massive difference straight away. It fills the space and gives your eye somewhere to land when you look up from your screen for a much-needed break.

Cards work the same way, and this is something people don’t always think about. You don’t have to send them. You can keep them, frame them, or just lean them against the wall or a shelf. They’re basically mini prints, especially if you group a few together.

Then add some stationery you’ll actually use, like a notepad or list pad. It sounds small, but having something that’s both functional and actually nice to look at makes everything feel more put together, and makes you feel a bit more organised.

You don’t need loads. One or two visual pieces, one useful thing, and that’s literally enough.

You don’t need a massive space or a full gallery wall either. It’s about making the most of what you have, and making it somewhere you don’t mind sitting and questioning your life decisions for a few hours.
