About Loon Kaboon:
Loon Kaboon is a small, woman-owned business born in Dublin and now split between Dublin and Barcelona. At its core, LK is a small business focusing on the fusion of colour, fun patterns and functionality in everyday items; keeping the quality high, and consistent, and the prices affordable and accessible.
LK started as a lockdown business, and quickly turned into a funky online store selling a range of funky products. As the brand grew, owner Nat also started doing in-person markets and events, including a small business showcase in Meta HQ, Ballsbridge for Valentine’s Day 2023.
The brand and its products have also been featured in various online publications, including IMAGE Magazine, and various small business showcases in both online and print format.
We have also been featured in articles and profiles championing female entrepreneurship, with LK and other woman-owned businesses being highlighted as a testament to the creativity and resilience of women in business.
More recently, Loon Kaboon’s expansion to Barcelona marked a significant milestone in the business’s journey. This growth is a testament to the brand’s universal appeal and its commitment to spreading joy and functionality far and wide. By establishing a presence in these vibrant cities, LK continues to draw inspiration from diverse cultures and infuse its products with an eclectic mix of influences.
Our Products:
LK has always been dedicated to creating items that bring joy and a splash of colour into customers’ daily routines, whether it’s a funky tote bag, a groovy notebook, or a vibrant piece of home decor. We offer a wide range of products, which owner Nat would want to buy and use herself. This includes a full range of funk-tional notepads in various sizes, the print collection for spicing up your home decor, and of course, our glorious greeting cards.
We also offer a range of super durable stickers which are perfect for adorning your laptop, notebooks, water bottles, and basically any surface.
This small business has carved a niche for itself by focusing on designing products that are not just visually appealing but also serve practical purposes, making everyday life a little brighter and more organised.
Our Sustainability Ethos:
Another of LK’s core principles is sustainability. Being sustainably sound and sourcing local products and materials for printing, packaging and postage is really important to Nat, and LK’s customer base. That’s why all of our products are made with eco-friendly materials, and 95% of the pieces and products we use are recycled and recyclable. Here’s some more info:
Our stationery is made from 120gsm uncoated paper which is FSC-certified, super smooth, and makes writing easy.
Our cello bags are made from 100% organic, recycled materials and are easy to recycle once you’ve opened and received your items. These are also reusable, and act as a really good protective sleeve if you’re displaying your LK art prints.
All our prints are printed on recycled and recyclable paper, as are the hand illustrated greeting cards.
Nat also sources a majority of the raw materials (think paper, packaging, business accessories) from other small, local businesses that are sustainability focused, to keep an ecosystem of eco-friendliness going in a cyclical way.
